Herbs, fruits and vegetables can offer a source of anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties that may assist your immune system (1,2). To help my husband remain healthy during his chemo treatments, I researched natural remedies used in alternative medicine to help control infections. I added small amounts of fresh herbs to his juice each morning, however I don’t believe there have been any scientific studies to show that these foods prevent infections in humans.
